HUMPHRIES LEADS TRACK TEAM @ CASSVILLE: Junior Robert Humphries was third in the 800 meters and 4th in the mile and Sophomore Makaila Anderson was 4th in the 100 at the Cassville Relays Tuesday night. Other highlights: * The 4x800 girls relay PR'd at 11:59 and Senior Cally Bowyer ran a PR split of 2:46. * The 4x400 boys relay PR'd at 3:51. * Seniors Kaydee Gabbard and Traven Walkingstick both PR'd in the discus. The Trojans next compete at Monett next Tuesday.

HUMPHRIES LEADS SOUTHWEST TRACK @ SPOKANE MEET: Junior Robert Humphries finished 2nd in the mile (4.52.59) and 3rd in the open 800 (2:11.35) to lead a shorthanded Trojans track team Thursday at the Spokane Invitational. Other highlights: ** the boys 4x400 relay team was 6th in 4:00.97. ** Freshman Ivan Suchowski was 5th in the high jump at 5-3.75. ** Freshman Cecilia Goins was 8th in the mile in 8:41.37. **Freshman Vic Tellez was 9th in the mile with a PR of 5:28.47. ** Senior Traven Walkingstick was 9th in the disc at 84-11. ** Senior Rachel Willer PR'd in both the shot (60-03) and disc (25-02) finishing 11th and 12th. The team returns to action Tuesday at Cassville.
BASEBALL UPDATE: Southwest falls short to Galena 12-9. Corwin 3.1IP 0ER 6K 2-4 3RBIs, Garcia 1-3 2RBIs 2B, 3 others with an RBI and 5 others with a hit. Back in action again tonight at Jasper.
JH TRACK UPDATE: Sidney Roe has broken another school record! She PRed in the 800m with a time of 2:39 setting a new school record. She placed 1st in both the 800m and the 1600m run. Addison Palmer tied for 4th in the 100m and placed 5th in the 200m. The girls 4x400 team placed 5th. Bryer Llewellyn PRed in both the 800 and 1600 placing 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in the 1600. Andy Day also PRed yesterday in the shot put coming in 3rd place. Overall the team had a great showing at the East Newton JH Track meet!
HUMPHRIES, SPROWES & BOWYER LEAD TRACK TEAM @ PIERCE CITY MEET: Junior Robert Humphries medalled in the 800 meters (2:13) and mile (4:49) and Junior Ezra Sprowes (24.0) in the 200 meters and then both helped the 4x400 relay PR and finish 3rd (3:52) Tuesday at Pierce City Track Invitational. The other members of the relay squad were Sophomore Braydan Eggleston and Freshman Victor Tellez. Other highlights: * the 4x400 girls finished 2nd in 4:58 and 4x800 girls finished 4th and PRd in 11:54. The five girls that make up the two relay teams are Senior Cally Bowyer, Juniors Juliauna Sierra, Abigail Floyd, and Alexis Borwick, and Sophomore Kali Jones, who also PRd and scored in the 800. * Senior Traven Walkingstick was sixth and scored in the discus and Sophomore Eva Velasco PRd in the shot put. The team returns to action Thursday at Spokane.

JH TRACK UPDATE: The JH Track team went to Spokane Thursday April 6th, here are the highlights: Addison Palmer finished 2nd in the 100m and 1st in the 200m. Sidney Roe finished first in the both the 1600m and 800m. Holly Johnson PRed in the 800m and finished 4th only 1/100 of a second behind 3rd place. The girl 4x400 team (Sidney Roe, Addison Palmer, Holly Johnson and Gracelyn Sanders) finished 4th. Skyler Reines placed 2nd in the Triple jump and 6th in the Long Jump
FFA UPDATE: The Dairy Cattle team competed yesterday at Stillwater, Ok in the Southern Nationals Dairy Judging Contest in which they placed 2nd. 4 states were represented. Allen H 6th individual and Colten P 10th individual.
BASEBALL UPDATE: Past two days were rough for Southwest baseball as Varsity lost to the previous District Champion East Newton on Monday and then lost to a state ranked Purdy team last night. JV came out with a monster come from behind win on Monday winning 17-16 scoring 13 runs in the last inning but fell to Purdy's JV on Tuesday.
HUMPHRIES RUNS SUB 5-MINUTE MILE AT REEDS SPRING: Robert Humphries finished 5th in his first sub-five-minute mile (4:57.11) and Ezra Sprowes placed 7th in the 100 (11.84 seconds) Tuesday at the Reeds Spring Track Invitational. The meet was halted shortly after 6 p.m. (as the 4x100 relay was starting) after multiple lightning strikes near the stadium. Gene Rainer was 9th in the disc with a throw of 89 feet, 10 inches. The Trojans return to action Thursday at Aurora.
JH TRACK TEAM MARIONVILLE UPDATE: Addison Palmer PRed in the 100 with a time of 14.94. Sidney Roe Placed 2nd in the 1600 and PRed in the 800 with a time of 2:44.95 placing 3rd by a fraction of a second behind 2nd place. Bryer Lewellen placed 1st in both the 1600 (5:28.58) and the 800 (2:28.34) and 3rd in the 200m. Holly Johnson PRed in the 800 with a time of 3:30.59. Kia Miles (17.72) and Easton Tinsley(16.34) PRed in the 100m. Skyler Reines PRed in the 200m with a time of 29.33.
JH TRACK MEET at ASH GROVE: Addison Palmer placed 1st in the 200m and PRed with a time of 30.6 seconds. Sidney Roe Placed 2nd in both the 800 and 1600m runs. Bryer Lewellen placed 3rd in the 1600. The boys relay team (Andy Day, Bryer Lewellen, Ian Quick and Skyler Reines) placed 3rd in the 4x200m relay.

JH TRACK UPDATE: Sidney Roe blows away her competition at the Mc Donald Co Track meet! She scored 1st in the 1600, 800 and 400m runs. She is only 5 seconds from setting a new school record in the 800 set back in 1991. Addison Palmer PR'ed in the 200m placing 3rd, only 2/10 of a second behind second place. She also PR'ed in the 100 cutting a whole second off her time. The boy's relay team also scored points for their team placing 6th in the 4x200. Ian Quick placed 7th in the discus beating his last distance by a foot and Skyler Reines placed 7th in the high jump.
HUMPHRIES WINS 800 METERS AT DIAMOND: Robert Humphries won the 800 meters in 2:12 and was third in the mile and three girls relays medaled at Diamond Tuesday night in track and field. Additionally, Robert anchored a 3rd-place finish in the 4x400 relay (3:56) that included an electric leg by Sophomore Braydan Eggleston. The girls were second in the 4x800 and 4x400 and third in the 4x200. Senior Cally Bowyer and Junior Abi Floyd were part of all three relay groups. Cally's final 40 meters in the 4x400 was memorable as she slid by a Lockwood runner for second. Others who scored included: Ezra Sprowes in the 100, Viv Villegas in the 800, Vic Tellez, and Kameron Kelley in the 2-mile and both 4x100 relays. The team returns to action Tuesday at Reeds Spring.

Here is an update from the JH Meet last night at Diamond -
Sidney Roe had a strong showing in both the 1600m and the 800m getting 2nd in both. She PR in both getting a 2:48 in the 800 and set a new school record for the 1600 with a time of 5:53.07. Sidney also placed 4th in the 400m with a time of 1:11.
Skyler Reines placed 3rd in the high jump with a height of 4'8" and 6th in the triple jump with a distance of 28".
The boys relay team (Ian Quick, Andy Day, Kai Miles, and Easton Tinsley) placed 8th in both the 4X100 and 4X200 scoring points for their team.
Addison Palmer also scored points placing 8th overall in the 200m.
Holly Johnson scored 6th in the Triple jump with a distance of 19'9".
ALL 4 GIRLS RELAYS PLACE AT REPUBLIC MEET:
Junior Robert Humphries narrowly missed a 5-mile mile (5:00.73) and finished 4th and all four girls' relays placed at Republic Monday night. The girls were 6th in the 4x800 (12:02.90) and 4x200 (2:11.69) and 7th in the 4x100 and 4x400 (4:55.62). Other highlights: Ezra Sprowes 7th in the 100 at 12.27, Robert 7th in the 800 at 2:18.07, Kali Jones 8th in the 800 in 2:57.27, and Cally Bowyer 9th in the 400 at 1:12.44, Gene Rainer 13th in the disc at 93-6, and the boys 4x400 relay 6th in 3:59.35. The team returns to action tonight at Diamond.
